Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 April 2026

For Your Parents is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our stairlift guidance service, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What Data We Collect

When you use our guided help form, we may collect:

  • Your name — so our partners can address you personally
  • Phone number — so a trusted stairlift company can contact you to arrange a quote
  • Postcode — to match you with stairlift companies that serve your parent's area
  • Situation description — the relationship to the person who needs help (e.g. mum, dad, partner) and the reason (e.g. struggling with stairs, had a fall, coming home from hospital). This helps us connect you with the most relevant support
  • Staircase type (straight, curved, outdoor, or unsure) — to provide relevant options

We do not collect payment information. We do not collect health data or any special category data — the situation choices in our form describe general mobility circumstances, not medical diagnoses.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information solely to connect you with trusted stairlift installation partners who can help your family. Your details are shared with up to 3 vetted installation companies who cover your parent's area and can provide a quote.

Who We Share It With

Your data is shared with:

  • Trusted stairlift installation partners — vetted companies who provide quotes and installation services in your parent's area

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your information with anyone other than the installation partners needed to fulfil your help request.

Legal Basis

We process your data on the basis of:

  • Consent — you actively submit your details through our guided help form
  • Legitimate interest — to connect you with relevant stairlift services you have requested for your family member

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for up to 12 months from the date you submit a help request. After this period, your data is securely deleted unless you have made a further request.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — ask us to correct any inaccurate data
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data at any time
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent to processing at any time
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
